Lloyd O’Keefe – First Team Coach

Welcome to our new first team coach Lloyd O'Keefe.

He finally takes the reins having been assistant coach for the first team in 2009 and 2010 and reserve team coach in 2009.

Although his first senior Head Coaching role Lloyd is well qualified to undertake this role having been with West's since 2003 coaching both junior and youth teams including the Under 19s in the previous two seasons.

Lloyd started his football career in the South Island playing in the Southern League with former national league side New Brighton (now Coastal Spirit).
He had 4 consecutive seasons playing in the Southern League wining the English Cup in 1987. 

In his junior footballing years he represented Canterbury Secondary Schools and played junior under age football for Canterbury representative teams.

Lloyd travelled to the UK spending almost 18 years there playing football in the Amateur Football Combination League representing Sheen’s first team. He was also handy with a bat and played League cricket representing Essex.

Lloyd works in the IT sector as an account manager and has an MBA and DMS.

He is looking forward to the challenges of a 1st team head coaching role at a Central League level.
